Roof Replacement · New Jersey
Legacy Peak Roofing & Construction performs full tear-off roof replacements across New Jersey — down to the deck, no overlays. As a GAF certified contractor headquartered in Monmouth County, we install architectural shingles, natural slate, cedar shake, standing seam metal, and DaVinci composite. Every project is permitted, inspected, and warranty-backed.
The Legacy Peak Standard
Less than 2% of roofing contractors in the country earn GAF Master Elite status — the highest tier of certification GAF offers. The designation unlocks the Golden Pledge® Limited Lifetime Warranty, which covers both materials and workmanship and is only available through certified installers. You cannot get this warranty from an uncertified contractor.
We never install over an existing layer. Every replacement begins with a full tear-off down to the deck — the only way to identify hidden damage, replace compromised substrate sections, and ensure the new system performs as designed for decades. Overlays are faster for the contractor. They are not in your interest.
Our proposals itemize every line of work before a single shingle is removed. When tear-off reveals decking damage, we photograph the findings, present a revised line item, and get your approval before we proceed. Final invoices match written proposals. There are no change orders at the end of the job.
Free on-site estimate. Written proposal within 24 hours.
Featured Work
Great craftsmanship is a commitment, not a tier. Every home gets the same crew, materials, and attention to detail. Browse our featured work to see what that looks like in practice.
Our Process
We inspect your existing roof from fascia to ridge, document all findings with photographs, and assess the deck condition where accessible. A written scope of work — including material options and a fixed-price proposal — is delivered within 24 hours of the site visit. No obligation.
Your old roof is stripped completely. Every square foot of exposed decking is inspected in daylight. Rotted, delaminated, or soft sections are replaced and photographed before new material is installed. You are notified of every finding before additional work proceeds — your approval is required to continue.
Ice-and-water shield, synthetic underlayment, drip edge, starter course, shingles, step flashing, and ridge cap are installed to manufacturer specifications. Our crew performs a magnet nail sweep of your yard and landscaping. Most homes are complete and cleaned by end of day.
Investment & Value
The cost of a New Jersey roof replacement is determined by four primary variables: total roof area and pitch, choice of roofing material, the condition of the underlying deck exposed at tear-off, and the complexity of your roof plane — valleys, dormers, chimneys, and multiple surfaces each add installation scope. No figure published without inspecting your specific structure is reliable.
We do not publish price ranges because they mislead more than they inform. A free on-site inspection delivers a written proposal with real numbers — specific to your roof, your material selection, and your property's actual condition.
Get an accurate estimateSquare footage is the baseline, but pitch is the multiplier. A steep mansard or multi-gable roof on the same footprint as a simple cape cod can represent 30-40% more in material waste and labor time before material selection is even discussed. Both factors are measured at the inspection.
The gap between architectural shingle and natural slate is not incremental — it is categorical. Material typically accounts for 40-60% of total replacement cost. Your choice of roofing system defines the budget ceiling more than any other single variable. We present all options without steering you toward any tier.
The deck cannot be assessed until the old roof is removed. Saturated or rotted sections require replacement before any new system is installed. We document and photograph every decking decision so you see exactly what was found, why it was addressed, and how it affects the final cost.
Valleys, dormers, skylights, chimneys, and multiple roof planes each add flashing requirements and installation time. A clean two-plane gable and a Victorian with six dormers represent fundamentally different labor scopes — regardless of matching square footage.
Client Experiences
After dealing with a few other roofing companies that were hard to communicate with and didn't really help fix my issues, I'm really glad I found Legacy Peak Roofing & Construction. They took the time to understand what was going on with my roof and clearly explained the best way to handle it. The crew was professional, showed up on time, and got everything done without any hassle. The whole experience was smooth and stress-free, and the quality of the work really shows. Danny the owner was great.
Legacy Peak replaced a portion of my back roof that had been leaking for a long time, along with the rotted roof decking — they were the only ones to notice that on the first inspection. The crew was respectful and polite, and the cleanup was the best I have ever seen. I would definitely recommend them to all my family and friends.
From the initial consultation to the final inspection, their team was professional, responsive, and highly skilled. The quality of workmanship is excellent — the new roof looks amazing. You can tell they take pride in their work and truly care about customer satisfaction.
Before You Commit
The most common questions we receive from New Jersey homeowners evaluating a full roof replacement — on warranties, materials, process, and cost.
An overlay installs new shingles over the existing layer without removing the old roof. It is faster and cheaper upfront, and also inferior in every measurable way. It conceals decking damage, adds weight to the structure, voids most manufacturer warranties, and reduces the life expectancy of the new shingles by 30-40%. Legacy Peak performs full tear-off replacements exclusively — the only method we can stand behind.
Less than 2% of roofing contractors in the United States qualify for GAF Master Elite status. The certification unlocks the GAF Golden Pledge® Limited Lifetime Warranty — the most comprehensive residential roofing warranty GAF offers, covering both materials and labor. It is only available through certified installers. If a contractor cannot confirm their Master Elite status in writing, they cannot offer this warranty.
Most single-family homes in New Jersey are completed in one to two days. Larger homes, steep pitches, multi-dormer Victorian roofs, or projects requiring significant decking replacement may extend to three days. We set a confirmed start date and complete the project in a single mobilization — no half-finished roofs left overnight.
Spring and fall are optimal — moderate temperatures allow asphalt shingles to thermally seal properly, and dry conditions reduce installation risk. That said, roof failure is not seasonal. A compromised roof in January carries far more risk than a properly executed winter replacement. We install year-round and adjust material handling to ambient conditions.
The decision is driven by three factors: your home's architectural style, how long you intend to own the property, and your investment threshold. Architectural shingles (25-35 year life) are ideal for value-focused replacements. Natural slate and standing seam metal (50-150 year life) are appropriate for long-term owners seeking a permanent roofing solution. We review all options at the estimate — without inspecting your property and understanding your goals, we won't recommend a material tier.
Yes. Every square foot of exposed decking is inspected in daylight during tear-off. Rotted, delaminated, or structurally compromised sections are replaced before any new material goes down. All decking findings are photographed, documented, and presented to you before additional work proceeds — we present a revised line-item and get your approval. No surprise charges at final invoice.
